Subject	Intermittent poor acceleration

Message	I had a 96 na auto with 220,000+ miles on it. After the car warms up, and while standing on the brake, the engine RPMs will fluctuate waiting for the light to change. The light goes green, I accelerate to move forward in the car does not want to move. The engine sounds like it's lugging and not running on all cylinders so I have to press the accelerator further down until the engine kicks in and starts to accelerate rapidly. This does not happen all the time. Sometimes after cornering, the car will not accelerate back up to speed, and occasionally while at interstate cruising speeds there is no response also. My mechanic thought it might've been an exhaust blockage, removed the catalytic converters and the problem still exists. This has never happened to me previously on my 93 na. Hopefully someone has experienced this problem also and can give us a good direction on which way to go. Thanks
